As we have now said goodbye to our last common seal of the season, Bean, we are now in the preparation mode for the expected grey seals that are currently being born along the Northumberland coastline, some of whom will no doubt end up with us at Tynemouth<\/p>
Bean was our 127th seal into the hospital since we teamed up with Tynemouth Aquarium in 2017, although not all of those seals stayed with us, with some being moved to other rehabilitation centres once they were fit enough so we had room to get more unwell or injured pups in.<\/p>
<\/p>
It is always wonderful seeing a healthy seal heading back to the sea, especially after the volunteers have put so much time and effort into getting them fit again.<\/p>
Now we get a brief rest from the 7am starts and 8pm finishes for a little while before the new pups come in demanding attention!<\/p>
<\/p>
As the nights draw in here in the UK, with the clocks going back, this could be the ideal time to buy one of our warm hoodies, or think about it as a Christmas gift ;)<\/p>
